It is not unusual for a car brand to use the certain trim level names across its lineup. For example, Chevrolet offers the premium High Country trim on models like the Silverado 1500 and the Traverse. When the Silverado was redesigned in 2019, Chevrolet introduced a new Trail Boss trim, which comes with off-road ready features like a 2-inch suspension lift, a two-speed transfer case, all-terrain tires, and monotube shock absorbers.
There was some speculation about whether Chevy would transfer this trim level to other models, like the Tahoe or Suburban. However, according to GM Authority, Chevy will only be using this trim level for its pickup trucks. As of the 2020 model year, it is currently only available on the Silverado 1500.
While you won’t be able to get this awesome package on your Chevrolet SUV, Chevy does plan on offering the Z71 trim for both the 2021 Suburban and Tahoe. This will let you and your family plan some exciting off-road adventures.
The Z71 trim on the Silverado 1500 currently comes with a front skid plates, red tow hooks, black chrome accents, a front skid plate, an automatic locking rear differential, and Hill Descent Control. We would expect to see many of these features on a Chevy SUV in the Z71 trim.
